About Cars

Released in 2006, Cars, presented by Disney Pictures, wowed audiences of all ages as a high-octane adventure comedy that showed life is about the journey, not the finish line. In the film, main character and hotshot rookie race car, Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on the old Route 66, he meets a snazzy Porsche named Sally, the wise-cracking tow truck Mater, Doc Hudson, and a variety of quirky characters who help him discover that there’s more to life than trophies and fame.

Needless to say, Louis Shamie left that day with patent in hand, but also with an earth-rocking realization, and an invaluable life-lesson learned, which would serve as the foundation of every Delta product to come: that a smartly crafted, sturdily constructed, budget-friendly, ease-driven product needed no introduction.
